Transparency

Clear Agreements. Honest Expectations.

We believe in transparency. Here's an overview of the agreements that govern our placements — so you know exactly what to expect.

Every animal placed from Stella's Lone Star Homestead is covered by a written agreement. We don't publish the full text of our contracts here, but we want you to understand what they cover and what they mean for you as a buyer or guardian family.

Purchase Agreement

Our standard purchase agreement covers the terms of sale, health guarantee, spay/neuter requirements (for pet-placement animals), and the responsibilities of both parties.

  • Health guarantee covering genetic conditions for a defined period
  • Spay/neuter requirement for pet-placement animals at appropriate age
  • Return policy — we always take our animals back, no questions asked
  • Prohibition on resale or rehoming without our knowledge and approval

Guardian Home Agreement

Our guardian home agreement outlines the responsibilities of the guardian family, the breeding expectations, veterinary care responsibilities, and the timeline for full ownership transfer.

  • Guardian family provides daily care, love, and a stable home environment
  • We cover breeding-related veterinary expenses
  • Defined number of litters or breeding cycles before full ownership transfer
  • Clear communication expectations and visit/return protocols

Health Guarantee

We stand behind the health of every animal we place. Our health guarantee covers genetic conditions that manifest within a defined period and outlines our commitment to you if a covered condition is diagnosed.

  • Covers genetic health conditions diagnosed within the guarantee period
  • Requires veterinary documentation from a licensed veterinarian
  • Options include replacement, partial refund, or contribution to treatment costs
  • Does not cover conditions caused by injury, environment, or negligence

Breeding Rights Agreement

Animals sold with full breeding rights are covered by a separate agreement outlining the conditions of those rights, registration requirements, and our expectations for responsible use.

  • Breeding rights are available on select animals — not all placements
  • Requires maintaining registration with the appropriate registry
  • We encourage — and may require — health testing before breeding
  • We're available as a resource and mentor for new breeders from our lines

Have Questions About Our Contracts?
