The Heart of Our Program
Miniature Dachshunds are the founding breed of Stella's Lone Star Homestead. We've spent years studying the breed — its structure, its genetics, its temperament — and building a program we're genuinely proud of.
Our dogs are registered with the AKC and/or CKC. Every breeding animal undergoes health and DNA testing. We focus on correct conformation, sound temperament, and the kind of personality that makes a Dachshund a true companion for life.

Our Health Testing Standards
Every breeding Dachshund in our program is tested for IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease), PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy), and a full DNA panel through Embark or a comparable laboratory. We share all results openly with approved families.
IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease)
The most important health test for Dachshunds. We only breed IVDD-clear or carrier × clear pairings.
PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy)
Genetic eye disease testing to ensure healthy vision in offspring.

Comprehensive genetic health and trait panel covering 200+ conditions and breed composition.
